Nearly 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Residents witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered power outages after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At one point on yesterday, over 28k power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
